Las elecciones al Parlamento Europeo en España han supuesto, respecto a las elecciones de 2019, un retroceso de 4.300.000 votos para los partidos que sostienen al Gobierno. El PSOE ha perdido 2.108.000 votos, Sumar y Podemos cuentan con 875.000 votos menos y los partidos nacionalistas y secesionistas tienen 1.320.000 votos menos. En términos porcentuales respecto al voto emitido, los partidos de la investidura de Pedro Sánchez han bajado 8,7 puntos del 55% que obtuvieron con anterioridad.

El mensaje de la ciudadanía es claro: el Gobierno y sus socios han perdido el apoyo de la mayoría de los españoles. La consecuencia lógica de estos resultados debería ser la convocatoria de elecciones generales para que el Parlamento y el Gobierno de la Nación respondieran a la voluntad del pueblo español, sujeto indivisible de nuestra soberanía del que emanan todos los poderes del Estado.

Sin embargo, las entidades que constituimos la Plataforma por la España Constitucional somos conscientes de que Pedro Sánchez actúa movido exclusivamente por sus propios intereses y que el rechazo a sus políticas por parte de la mayoría de los ciudadanos no le llevará a dar la palabra a los electores, sino todo lo contrario: acelerará el proceso de demolición del sistema de pesos y contrapesos propio de la democracia, profundizando en el ataque a la separación de poderes mediante el asalto al CGPJ, hostigando a la prensa independiente, utilizando a la Fiscalía para su defensa personal y la de su entorno familiar y, en definitiva, avanzando en la parasitación de todos los resortes del poder.

El Partido Popular, segundo más importante dentro del grupo parlamentario del PPE, (primera fuerza en el Parlamento Europeo) debe hacer entender a sus socios en Europa el grave deterioro de la democracia que vivimos en España, la necesidad de hacer frente a este proceso también desde las instancias comunitarias y el riesgo que supondría depender en su actuación de los acuerdos con el grupo parlamentario de los socialistas europeos (S&D), donde el PSOE es la segunda fuerza más relevante y tendrá, por tanto, una notable influencia.

La gravedad de la actuación del presidente Sánchez no afecta exclusivamente a España, sino a toda la UE. Por ello, desde la Plataforma por la España Constitucional, consideramos que el PP, cumpliendo con lo que es el mandato implícito de los millones de votantes que le han dado su confianza, debe defender firmemente ante su grupo parlamentario en Europa la necesidad de abrirse en determinadas cuestiones cruciales a otras alianzas alternativas con otros grupos del Parlamento Europeo comprometidos con la defensa de los derechos humanos, el imperio de la ley, la separación de poderes, la economía de mercado, fronteras seguras y la defensa de los valores básicos de la civilización occidental, que puedan hacer frente sin hipotecas a cualquier proceso que ponga en riesgo los fundamentos democráticos de nuestras sociedades, como el que estamos padeciendo en España. Una reiteración incondicional y permanente de las alianzas del pasado no respondería en esta etapa histórica ni a las necesidades geoestratégicas ni a los deseos de la mayoría de los ciudadanos de la UE.

The Elections to the European Parliament in Spain have seen a drop of 4.3 million votes for the parties maintaining the government in power with respect to the 2019 elections. The Spanish Socialist Party (PSOE) lost 2,108,000 votes, while Sumar and Podemos received 875,000 votes less with nationalist and secessionist parties registering a drop of 1,320,000 votes. Percentage wise, the parties that supported the investiture of Pedro Sánchez as prime minister have dropped 8.7 percentage points from the 55% obtained in the previous election.
Accordingly, the message conveyed by the electorate is clear: the government and its partners have lost the support of the majority of Spanish citizens. The logical consequence of such a loss should be the calling of general elections in order for the parliament and government of the country to respond to the will of the Spanish people to whom the sovereignty belongs and from which all the powers of the state are derived.
However, we the entities that comprise the “Platform for a Constitutional Spain” are mindful of the fact that Pedro Sánchez is exclusively motivated by his own interests and that the rejection of his policies by the majority of the citizens will not lead him to giving voice to the electorate. Quite the contrary, he will continue to speed up the process of tearing down the system of weights and counterweights proper to any democracy, insisting in his onslaught against the separation of powers by attacking the General Council of the Judiciary (Consejo General del Poder Judicial – CGPJ), harassing the independent media, using the Public Prosecutor’s Office for his personal defence and that of his immediate family and, in fine, progressively feeding off all the organs of power at his command.
The Popular Party (PP), the second biggest party in the European People’s Party (EPP) group — the main political force in the European Parliament — must make its European partners aware of the serious impairment of democracy taking place in Spain; the need to tackle this process through EU authorities; and the risk to be run by having its acts depend on agreements with the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (S&D) group in the EU Parliament in which the Spanish Socialist Party is the second biggest party, a fact that will thus see it wield significant influence in any such agreements.
The gravity of the actions of Prime Minister Sánchez does not affect Spain alone, but impacts on the entire EU. Accordingly, the “Platform for a Constitutional Spain” considers that the PP, to fulfil the implicit mandate granted by the millions of voters who have placed their trust in it, must staunchly defend in its European parliamentary group the need to consider alternative alliances with other groups committed to the defence of human rights, the rule of law, the separation of powers, the market economy, secure borders and the defence of core western civilisation values when it comes to dealing with certain crucial issues, and to thereby tackle any process that may jeopardise the democratic foundations of our societies, as is currently happening in Spain. An unconditional and unchanging repeat of past alliances would not respond at this historic juncture either to geostrategic needs or to the wishes of the majority of EU citizens.

In Spanien haben die Parteien, die die Regierung unterstützen, bei den Wahlen zum Europäischen Parlament im Vergleich zu 2019 einen Rückschlag erlitten: sie erhielten 4.300.000 Stimmen weniger. Die PSOE hat 2.108.000 Stimmen verloren, Sumar und Podemos 875.000 Stimmen und die nationalistischen und sezessionistischen Parteien mussten 1.320.000 Stimmen einbüßen. Die Parteien, die Pedro Sánchez bei der Wahl zum Regierungspräsidenten unterstützt hatten, haben gegenüber der letzten Wahl (damaliges Ergebnis: insgesamt 55 Prozent) 8,7 Prozent der Stimmen verloren.
Die Botschaft der Wähler ist eindeutig: Die Regierung und ihre Partner haben die Unterstützung der Mehrheit der Spanier verloren. Die logische Konsequenz dieses Ergebnisses: Die spanische Regierung sollte Neuwahlen ankündigen und somit gemeinsam mit dem Parlament dem Willen des spanischen Volkes — des eine unteilbare Einheit bildenden Souveräns, von dem alle Staatsgewalt ausgeht — entsprechen.
Die Organisationen der Plattform für ein verfassungskonformes Spanien sind sich jedoch bewusst, dass Pedro Sánchez ausschließlich aus Eigeninteresse handelt. Die Mehrheit der Bürger lehnt seine Politik zwar ab, dies wird ihn jedoch nicht dazu bringen, ihnen ein Mitspracherecht einzuräumen — ganz im Gegenteil: Sánchez wird das der Demokratie innewohnende System der gegenseitigen Kontrolle nur noch schneller abbauen, die Gewaltenteilung durch den Angriff auf den Obersten Justizrat schwächen, die unabhängige Presse schikanieren, die Staatsanwaltschaft zur Verteidigung seiner persönlichen und der Interessen seiner Familie nutzen und somit alle Ebenen der Staatsmacht dem Parasitentum ausliefern.
Die Partido Popular (PP), die zweitwichtigste Partei in der EVP-Fraktion, der führenden Kraft im EU-Parlament, muss ihren Partnern in Europa den gravierenden Niedergang der spanischen Demokratie und die Notwendigkeit, diesem Prozess auch seitens der EU und ihrer Behörden aus entgegenzutreten, vor Augen halten. Außerdem besteht das zusätzliche Risiko, dass sich die EVP-Fraktion von Vereinbarungen mit der Fraktion der Europäischen Sozialisten (S&D) abhängig macht, in der die PSOE die zweitwichtigste Kraft ist und einen erheblichen Einfluss hat.
Die skandalöse Politik von Präsident Sánchez wirkt sich nicht nur auf Spanien, sondern auf die gesamte EU aus. Daher sind wir von der Plattform für ein verfassungskonformes Spanien der Ansicht, dass die PP, die das implizite Mandat der Millionen von Wählern, die ihr vertrauen, erfüllen und in ihrer Fraktion im EU-Parlament nachdrücklich dafür eintreten muss, sich in bestimmten entscheidenden Fragen alternativen Bündnissen mit anderen Fraktionen im EU-Parlament zu öffnen. Voraussetzung hierfür ist, dass sich diese Fraktionen für die Verteidigung der Menschenrechte, der Rechtsstaatlichkeit, der Gewaltenteilung, der Marktwirtschaft, der sicheren Grenzen und der Grundwerte der westlichen Zivilisation einsetzen und dass sie sich frei und unbelastet gegen jeden Prozess wehren können, der — wie wir es gerade in Spanien erleben — die demokratischen Grundlagen unserer Gesellschaft gefährdet. Eine bedingungslose und auf Dauer angelegte Wiederholung der Bündnisse der Vergangenheit würde in dieser historischen Phase weder den geostrategischen Erfordernissen noch den Wünschen der Mehrheit der EU-Bürger entsprechen.
